SACRED SONG
A Ceremonial Retreat with Cristina Mendoza Vidal May 22-25th

About Cristina Mendoza Vidal

Maria Cristina has been holding healing circles and ceremonial spaces for over two decades, rooted in her homeland of Peru and shared throughout the world. She walks a path of devotion as a student of Jorge Gonzales, Don Solon Tello, and other respected elders, carrying forward the teachings of the Peruvian lineage with humility, care, and deep respect.

As a mestiza woman, Cristina embodies a lineage of lived intersection—woven from Indigenous and European ancestries—reflecting the layered histories of the land and traditions she honors. Her work is guided by cultural understanding, embodied wisdom, and a lifelong commitment to learning.

She is known for her ability to hold ceremonial space with great integrity—anchored in love, grace, and reverence—creating a field in which remembrance, healing, and transformation may naturally unfold.

Within Peruvian ceremonial traditions, ícaros are living songs—carriers of prayer, memory, and medicine. They are not simply heard, but received. Through vibration and intention, these songs move through the body and the subtle layers of being, supporting clearing, harmony, and remembrance.

In this retreat with the Shamanic Yoga Institute, participants are invited into a shared field of sound. We will both listen to and sing sacred songs together—allowing the voice to become a bridge between inner and outer worlds. Listening becomes a devotional act; singing becomes an offering.

Through guided song ceremonies, collective chanting, and moments of deep stillness, participants may experience how sound works beyond words—softening the nervous system, opening the heart, and supporting emotional and energetic integration. No prior singing experience is needed; presence is the only requirement.

Held within a reverent ceremonial container, this work honors song as a relational practice—one that unfolds through listening, voicing, and being sung by the field itself.

This is an invitation to remember the body as an instrument, the voice as medicine, and sound as a pathway home.
